01 — THE FOUNDER

A season of weekends, and a dozen fresh starts.

Finley Browne has spent many seasons working his way through the UK Optimist fleet. In one of them he sailed every weekend for eight months, and a lot of those weekends were with a coach.

Those sessions came from four programmes running at once, with 8 to 12 coaches across the season. Each coach saw only their own sessions. None of them could see what he was working on elsewhere or what he'd already covered with someone else.

“Every new coach meant explaining myself all over again. It seemed a little crazy. So at 12, I decided to do something about it.”

Every sailor deserves to walk into a coaching session knowing the coach already has everything they need to know about them, so they get the most out of every session.

That's the job SailCoach Ltd exists to do. We're making sure every coach a sailor works with has the full picture, and can build on it.

SailCoach Ltd was formed in 2026, after two years of incubation within Innovology Ltd.
